Welcome to the Flu Voice Collection Study Mobile Application (the “Mobile App”). Please be aware that the Mobile App, any associated software, www.brainbaseline.com website, and any associated documentation (collectively, the “Software”) are operated by or on behalf of Digital Artefacts, Inc. (“DA,” “we” or “us”). Your privacy is important to us.
The use of the Mobile App is being made available for use in the “Wearable/monitoring data collection protocol” study (Protocol RDO-CS-005). The Mobile App is made to be used with study personnel present to capture data using the Mobile App. All other use of the Mobile App is prohibited.
If you’re a study participant in the “Wearable/monitoring data collection protocol” study (Protocol RDO-CS-005) please refer to your informed consent document for more details on how we will protect your data. The Mobile App collects the personal information you choose to provide to the Mobile App (“Application Information”).
The Mobile App may ask for the following Application Information when you use the Mobile App, including:
Personal information in the form of a study-site email address when registering the Mobile App install to a study site.
Visit information such as a participant ID and visit number.
Information about your devices, such as screen resolution, operating system, device manufacturer and model, and language.
Usage data (purely structured, technical, and automated format data focused on crash reporting and technical support)
The Mobile App may ask for the following Application Information from the study participant when using the Mobile App and will be detailed in the Informed Consent Document provided to the study participant, including:
Study specific questionnaires related to but not limited to the participant’s year of birth.
Study specific audio recordings of study participants performing audio tasks including but not limited to phoneme recordings, cough recordings, and passage reading recordings.
As a study team member your use of the Mobile App is governed by your institutions operating procedures, contracts, and research related obligations such as informed consent and ethics obligations. The data captured in the Mobile App will only be used as necessary to process your data for protocol RDO-CS-005, respond to queries or requests, provide technical support or updates, act in a manner consistent with an informed consent document, if any, or enforce the terms of the Privacy Notice, Terms and Conditions, and any other policies or legal requirements governing the use of the Mobile App. In submitting data to us, you consent to our use of the data for these limited purposes.
We may disclose Application Information to:
Our affiliates, for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice.
Our third-party service providers, to permit them to provide authorized services on our behalf, such as data management and analysis; identity verification, eligibility/screening, information technology and related infrastructure provisioning; customer service; email delivery; auditing; and other approved services.
A third party, in the event of any reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets or stock (including in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings).
We may also use and disclose the information you provide, as we believe to be necessary or appropriate to:
Comply with applicable law, including laws outside your country of residence.
Comply with legal process.
Respond to requests from public and government authorities, including authorities outside your country of residence.
Enforce our terms and conditions.
Protect our operations, or those of any of our affiliates.
Protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, and/or that of our affiliates, you or others.
Allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.
You agree that you have provided notice to, and obtained consent from, any third party individuals whose Personal Information you supply to us, including with regard to: (a) the purposes for which such third party’s Personal Information has been collected; (b) the intended recipients or categories of recipients of the third party’s Personal Information; (c) which of the third party’s Personal Information is obligatory and which Personal Information, if any, is voluntary; and (d) how the third party can access and, if necessary, correct the Personal Information provided.
This Privacy Notice does not address, and we are not responsible for, the information collection, use, disclosure or security practices, or other practices, of any third party, including any third party operating a service to which the Mobile App links. The inclusion of a link within the Mobile App does not imply our endorsement of the linked service.
We seek to use reasonable organizational, technical, and administrative measures to protect the information you provide to us. Unfortunately, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please immediately notify us.
The Mobile App is not directed to individuals under the age of eighteen (18), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from such individuals.
TThe data we collect through the Mobile App may be stored and processed in any country where we have facilities or in which we engage service providers, including in the United States and where our affiliates operate, and by using the Mobile App, you consent to the transfer of information to countries outside of your country of residence, including the United States, which may have different data protection rules than those of your country.
From time to time, we may update this Privacy Notice. Any changes will become effective when we post the revised Privacy Notice in the Mobile App. Your use of the Mobile App following these changes means that you accept the revised Privacy Notice.
